iRun WNY New Year's Eve 5K

iRun Western New York proudly presents the 7th Annual 5K New Year's Classic. Two races will be held (one on New Year's Eve and another on New Year's Day) at beautiful Fort Niagara State Park in Youngstown, New York! Runners can sign up to run on New Year's Eve (12-31-22), New Year's Day (1-1-23), or both! We are planning to use USATF Course #NY11071JG. Participants will receive a cool custom finisher medal that was specially designed for this race!

2021 Race at Old Fort Niagara

START/FINISH
Both 5K races will start and finish near the historic lighthouse at Old Fort Niagara. The New Year's Eve 5K will take place on December 31st and will feature a clockwise course. The New Year's Day 5K will take place on January 1st and will feature a counter-clockwise course. There will be one water stop on the course that runners will pass by twice. Bottled water and grab & go snacks will be provided to all runners at the finish line. 

What is your New Year's resolution! Enter your New Year's resolution online during the registration process (20 characters or less) and we will announce it when you cross the finish line!

Online registration will remain open right up until the start of each race or until sold out. Packet pickup will take place in the main parking lot for your convenience.

POST RACE CELEBRATION
All participants will be provided with bottled water and grab & go food/snacks at the finish line following the race. The park is open to the general public on both days and you are welcome to stay with family and friends for as long as you wish. Adult beverages are allowed inside the park (must be 21 and older). We will host the awards ceremony at the Stone Jug in the Village of Youngstown after the race (ceremony to take place at 1:20pm). They will be offering beer specials to all race participants.

PARKING
There will be plenty of free parking in the main parking lot near the pool/beach a short 3-4 minute walk to the start/finish area. Please refrain from parking in the Historic Old Fort Niagara parking lot as they are open for business and have asked us to use the main lot on both days.

AGE GROUPS & AWARDS
Hand crafted trophies will be presented to the 1st place overall male and female finishers. The awards ceremony will take place in the main parking lot where you checked in for the race. We will present custom trophies to the top male and female runners and age group winners will receive a decal for the back of their finisher medal. In addition, everyone can download photos and custom finisher certificates from the event page and view/share them following the race!

14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85 and older.

CANCELLATION POLICY
There will be no refunds. In the event of foul weather, public safety concerns, or for any other reason deemed necessary by race organizers (ex: state of emergency, etc), we reserve the right to postpone/reschedule the event at our discretion or offer a virtual alternative if necessary.

TIMING & FINISH LINE SERVICES
Gun start/chip finish timing services using industry leading Jaguar Electronic RFID timing will be provided by Race Management Solutions. Results are updated throughout the race in real time and can be accessed at any time after crossing the finish line using any one of the following options:
